We're looking for a *Project Accountant* who thrives at the intersection of accounting and operations. Someone who wants to get beyond the four walls of the accounting office and understand what is actually happening on a job site. If reconciling numbers gives you satisfaction, but understanding the "why" behind them gives you energy, keep reading. *This Isn't Your Typical Accounting Role* You won't spend your days buried in transactions with little understanding of where the numbers came from. Instead, you'll work closely with project managers, operations teams, and leadership to ensure the financial story of each project accurately reflects what's happening in the field. You'll track project performance, monitor costs, manage WIP, support billing and contract administration, and help provide the insights that keep projects on track and profitable. In short?you'll become a trusted partner in how we run our business. *What You'll Be Doing* Managing project accounting and Work-in-Progress (WIP) reporting Tracking project costs, budgets, margins, and forecasts Supporting invoicing and contract administration Allocating labour, equipment, and subcontractor costs accurately Monitoring project profitability and identifying potential risks early Working alongside project managers and operations leaders to connect financial results with project reality Helping us continuously improve our systems, processes, and reporting *The Kind of Person Who Excels Here* You're naturally curious. You take ownership, communicate well, and aren't afraid to roll up your sleeves when something needs to get done. *What We'd Love to See* · A CPA or someone who is working towards a CPA would be considered an asset. · 2+ years of project accounting or construction accounting experience · Strong understanding of: o WIP reporting o Job costing o Budget vs. actual analysis o Revenue recognition o Cost allocations · Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, or similar systems · Strong Excel skills · Excellent organizational and communication abilities *Why Hanson?* Because we believe great businesses are built by great people.
