Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate. or equivalent experience. Work setting: Retail/wholesale establishment/distribution centre. Tasks: Prepare bills of lading, invoices and other shipping documents. Inspect and verify incoming goods against invoices or other documents. Record shortages and reject damaged goods. Pack goods to be shipped. Unpack goods received. Affix identifying information and shipping instructions on shipments. Oversee loading and unloading of goods. Equipment and machinery experience: Dollies and hand trucks. Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts. Pallet lifters. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Attention to detail. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: More than 45 kg (100 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots.
