*Chef, Justamere Café & Bakery ? Antigonish, Nova Scotia* Justamere Café & Bakery is a full-service restaurant and bakery located in Antigonish, Nova Scotia. We are seeking an experienced Chef to provide culinary leadership across our restaurant, bakery, and event food operations. The successful candidate will oversee kitchen operations, supervise staff, support menu development, maintain food quality standards, and assist in the continued growth and development of the business. *Responsibilities* * Plan and direct food preparation and culinary activities for restaurant, bakery, and event operations * Coordinate with front-of-house management to support efficient service, guest satisfaction, and overall operational quality * Assist in recruitment, onboarding, training, supervision, and scheduling of kitchen staff * Develop and refine menus, recipes, and daily features * Maintain and improve standards related to food quality, presentation, cleanliness, organization, and kitchen operations * Develop and implement systems and procedures to improve consistency, efficiency, workflow, and workplace practices within the kitchen * Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and assist with food cost control and waste reduction * Support bakery production and catered/event food operations * Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and workplace health and safety standards *Qualifications* * Minimum 5 years of recent commercial kitchen experience, including experience in a supervisory or leadership capacity * Experience in a full-service restaurant environment required * Strong organizational, leadership, and communication skills * Experience with menu planning, inventory management, and kitchen operations * Ability to work effectively in an English-language workplace environment * Baking and event food service experience considered an asset *Position Details* * Full-time, permanent position * Minimum 30 hours per week * Wage: $30.00?$32.00 per hour, depending on experience * Work setting: Restaurant and bakery * Language of work: English Interested applicants may apply by email with resume and references.
