*Job Summary* We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional dining experiences. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food preparation and cooking expertise, and a passion for hospitality. This role involves overseeing kitchen operations, managing food safety standards, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes that meet our restaurant?s standards. The Chef will play a vital role in maintaining a positive team environment and upholding the reputation of our establishment. *Duties* * Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards * Supervise kitchen staff, including cooks and food service personnel, ensuring efficient workflow * Oversee food handling procedures to maintain safety and hygiene standards in compliance with food safety regulations * Manage inventory, order supplies, and ensure proper storage of ingredients * Develop new menu items in collaboration with management to keep offerings innovative and appealing * Train and mentor kitchen staff to improve culinary skills and uphold quality standards * Monitor kitchen operations during service hours to ensure timely delivery of orders * Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen environment at all times * Ensure adherence to all health and safety regulations within the food industry *Qualifications* * Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, and restaurant management * Supervising experience within a restaurant or hospitality setting is highly desirable * Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively * Extensive knowledge of food safety practices, handling procedures, and sanitation standards * Excellent understanding of the food industry trends and customer service principles * Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment * Exceptional communication skills with a focus on teamwork and leadership * Previous restaurant or kitchen experience is required; hospitality background is preferred * Ability to serve as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and culinary excellence Pay: $21.00-$23.00 per hour Work Location: In person- Location Halifax, NS
