*About us* Helix Contracting is a growing general contractor specializing in the Industrial, Commercial, Institutional (ICI) Industry. Our customers are municipal, provincial and federal governments throughout Ontario. We are looking for individuals that possess strong leadership skills and are willing to travel to different job sites within Northwestern Ontario. We are seeking a Carpenter/Lead Hand to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist with various tasks on construction sites to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely. *Duties:* - Supervise and lead a team of workers in various construction projects - Coordinate and assign tasks to team members - Ensure that work is completed according to project specifications and timelines - Provide guidance and training to team members as needed - Oversee the use of power tools and equipment on job sites - Conduct regular inspections to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to safety protocols - Collaborate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure project success *Qualifications: * - Strong knowledge and experience in electrical, heavy lifting, construction painting, power tools, installation, concrete forming, plumbing, carpentry, and general maintenance person skills - Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction plans - Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail - Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines - Valid driver's license with a clean driving record *Additional Information: * This position requires a candidate who is comfortable working away from home for multiple weeks at a time The successful candidate will need to successfully complete the following clearances but are not limited to: - Criminal Background Check - Government Security Clearances We offer competitive compensation based on experience.
