Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. Horticultural science. Environmental biology. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: At heights. Noisy. Outdoors. All weather conditions. Work setting: Greenhouse. Various locations. Landscape contractor. Tasks: Trim trees to achieve the desired pruning objective such as crown cleaning, thinning, raising, reduction, restoration, espalier pruning, vista pruning. Survey and assess designated sites. Apply various treatments such as pruning, spraying, repairing damaged areas and injecting with treatment solutions. Examine trees and shrubs to diagnose problems and disease. Plant and maintain private and public lawns and gardens. Plant and move trees. Tree removal. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Arboriculturists Trade Certification. Transportation/travel information: Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Ability to work independently. Attention to detail. Repetitive tasks. Handling heavy loads. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Ability to distinguish between colours. Standing for extended periods. Bending, crouching, kneeling. Personal suitability: Client focus.
