There will also be required in-service for the successful candidate to complete.<p>Deadline for Applications: April 25, 2024 12:00 pm<p>Electronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience: <p>extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching in all areas of this assignment <p>knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment<p>specialized course work in the following areas of ELL/ESD: teaching methodology, cross-cultural sensitization, multicultural studies, and applied linguistics<p>cultural awareness and experience in Aboriginal Education<p>experience teaching landed immigrant and international ELL/ESD students<p>knowledge of ELL/ESD Ministry of Education eligibility criteria for 1701 reporting<p>experience in conducting formal, level B assessments on ELL/ESD students<p>experience in developing Annual Individual Plans (AIPs) for ELL/ESD students<p>knowledge of current best practices in education of ELL/ESD students<p>knowledge of SIOP or a willingness to be trained in SIOP<p>demonstrated understanding of the curriculum organizers as documented in the Curriculum Competencies for all areas of this assignment<p>familiarity with and supportive of a restorative approach to student discipline<p>evidence of personal initiative and strong work ethic with a proven ability to work collaboratively as an effective team member<p>excellent communication skills with parents, students, and other staff <p>demonstrated ability to plan instruction and use highly successful assessment strategies in a muti-graded classroom for, of and as learning using an integrated/cross curricular approach <p>demonstrated ability to plan/co-plan and teach/co-teach in a flexible, learning environment<p>demonstrated ability to recognize and acknowledge individual student differences and adjust instructional practices accordingly through the lens of Inclusion. <p>demonstrated ability to set and clarify learning standards and to establish effective classroom procedures and relationships <p>demonstrated excellent classroom management, behaviour management and classroom organization skills; experience with Positive Behaviour interventions and Support (PBiS) is an asset <p>demonstrated high energy and interpersonal skills and a proven ability to inspire confidence and self-worth in adolescents <p>Need information related to teachingFor Further Information Contact: Sarah Gamboa, Principal (604) 792-4257
