Posting Number: T24-49<p>Date Issued: April 17, 2024 POSITION <p>Worksite: Chilliwack Secondary School<p>Contract Type: Continuing, Full-Time <p>Assignment Area(s): Technology Education (Hairstyling)<p>Salary Range: $50,000 to $107,000 (range based on length of service and qualifications in accordance to the collective agreement) <p>Effective Date: September 1, 2024<p>Please Note: The assignment within this position in September may not be identical to the assignment in this posted position.<p>Deadline for Applications: May 2, 2024 12:00 pmElectronic Applications must be submitted through Make A Future www.makeafuture.ca and include a Cover Letter, Resume, Teaching Report, Transcripts & the names of 2 current supervisors who can comment on your teaching.Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:<p> extensive academic training, professional preparation, and qualifications in teaching all areas of this assignment <p>knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the Ministry of Educations current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment/reporting procedures as applied to all areas of this assignment <p>Must have Inter-Provincial Red Seal qualification for Hairstylist<p>Must have recent teaching experience as a Youth Train in Trades Hairstyling Red Seal Instructor within a school district context<p>Must be a BC certified teacher with a Bachelors degree in Education<p>Demonstrated ability in curricular development related to hair styling and the new ITA standards for hairstyling<p>Demonstrated ability to prepare high school students for the ITA examination for hairstyling<p>Demonstrated ability to establish/maintain appropriate contacts with the community in planning and implementing work experience placements for hair stylist students<p>Demonstrated knowledge and commitment to the philosophy of a career preparation program<p>Demonstrated experience in organizing hair shows and Hair Industry events (involvement in Skills Canada an asset)<p>Demonstrated ability to work as a team with school and district staff as well as the ITA and community members<p>Demonstrated experience and commitment to working with at-risk students in a hairstyling program<p>Demonstrated commitment to and engagement in ongoing professional and personal learning for hairstyling<p>knowledge of, and willingness to practice, all elements of the new reporting order, specifically utilizing proficiency scales and descriptive feedback for assessing and communicating student progress and learning<p>demonstrated ability to motivate and provide success for students who experience difficulties with learning and require additional support through student services<p>demonstrated ability to recognize, acknowledge, and plan for individual student differences and to adjust instructional practices accordingly<p>demonstrated experience in reading, contributing to, and fulfillment of Individual Education Plans<p>demonstrated experience with the UDL framework planning for access points and success for all learners<p>demonstrated experience with the RTI framework to support student learning<p>demonstrated experience and continued commitment to honoring First Peoples Principles of Learning and the Indigenization of curriculum<p>demonstrated ability to work in a trauma-informed capacity<p>demonstrated strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, collaborative and classroom management skills<p>demonstrated ability to work closely with staff in a team-oriented approach<p>demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues both verbally and in writing<p>demonstrated commitment to use technology for teaching and to communicate consistently and effectively with parents and studentsFor Further Information Contac
