BEHAVIORAL LEAD TEACHER/SOCIAL WORKER Lakeshore School Division invites applications for a 100% term Behavioral Lead Teacher/Social Worker commencing September 3, 2024, until June 30, 2025 Lakeshore School Division is a small school division with big ideas. Under the direction of the Student Services Administrator, the Behavioral Lead Teacher/Social Worker will support administrators and classroom teachers by consulting, co-teaching and/or coaching positive behavior strategies as well as assisting attendance and various Student Specific Plans. <p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: <p> Support in the writing and implementing of Student Specific Plans <p> Provide professional development for divisional staff <p> Spend majority of time in schools consulting, co-teaching, coaching and directly supporting follow up from incidents <p> Work collaboratively with administrators, Student Services teams, teachers, and parents/guardians <p> Respond to crisis situations <p> Participate in threat assessments <p> Meet with parents QUALIFICATIONS: <p> Valid Manitoba Teachers Certificate or Social Work degree eligible for consideration as a certified school clinician <p> Minimum of 5 years of varied classroom teaching experience. <p> Post Baccalaureate diploma or graduate work would be an asset. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS: <p> Experience working with students with challenging needs <p> Experience with behavior coaching and/or co-teaching <p> Strong interpersonal skills, including a sense of discretion and confidentiality regarding coaching interactions and work with students. <p> Effective written and oral communication skills. <p> Leadership ability. <p> Organizational skills to work independently. <p> Ability to network within and beyond the school division. <p> Be a positive influence on the team atmosphere. <p> Satisfy all the requirements of the Division Policy regarding Child Abuse Registry and Criminal Record checks.
