Co-Op and Career Path Student - Water DistributionAre you looking for a chance to put your education into practice? Take it to the next level with a Co-op position with the City of Kelowna! We seek an inquisitive team player for our Water Distribution department. Join the team to help operate and maintain Kelowna's water distribution, including hydrants and valve maintenance, watermain flushing, leak detection, and troubleshooting.Co-op position runs from May through August. Eligible candidates will be enrolled in and returning to school full-time in the subsequent academic year and have strong communication, teamwork, customer service, and problem-solving skills. International students must be attending school full time, possess a valid study permit and may require a valid co-op work permit when applying for a co-op position. Please note that international students can only participate in co-op work terms for up to 50% of their total program of study (example: a 2 year diploma program is limited to two co-op work terms). Qualifications Enrolled in a full time Education Program at a post-secondary institution Completion of 1st year in a Water Engineering Technology Diploma program or related program Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Problem solving and attention to detail Good organization skills Hands on skills using tools and operating equipment Previous experience working in a Water Utility would be considered an asset Valid BC Drivers License Must be physically able to lift, walk, bend, and operate light equipment This assignment is a four-month term from May to August 2026.
